Sell your car in 4 simple steps:
Why you should sell your car with Motorway
How much can I sell my car for?
It depends on several factors, starting with your vehicle’s make and model. Some models are more reliable than others, so they don’t depreciate as quickly as others.
The second crucial aspect is the age and mileage of your car. The higher the numbers on the odometer, and the older it is, the lower the value.
Your vehicle’s condition is an equally significant factor when it comes to getting a higher price for it. Scuffed wheels, dents, paint scratches will lower the value.
Another factor is the vehicle’s service history. A car with a full service history record shows how well maintained it is. A car that has skipped several services is a big red flag.
Finally yet importantly is the car history check, showing the number of owners, write-off status, mileage anomalies, MOT and tax record, etc. Only an HPI clear car is a safe buy.
CAR HISTORY CHECK
Check if a vehicle has been stolen, written-off, has any outstanding finance & more

As a seller, you need to tell the DVLA that you are no longer the vehicle owner (you can do it online). You should give the car buyer the green portion of the V5C form and send the rest of the completed 'new keeper' section to the DVLA.
Just enter your vehicle reg in the field at the top of the page and click ‘Value Your Car’ to receive an instant car valuation. It is that easy!
The dealer will inform the DVLA that you’ve sold the vehicle to them online. The dealer needs the 11-digit document reference number from your vehicle V5C (log book).
You may also be able to do this yourself. Just tell the DVLA online that you’ve sold or transferred a vehicle. Use the 11-digit document reference number on the yellow slip (V5C/3). Check with the dealer if this is acceptable to them.
You do not need much to sell your car. All that’s required is your V5C. The green ‘new keeper’ slip from the logbook must be given to the dealer.
You must also inform the DVLA that you have sold your car. Use this page to tell them. Failing to do it abolish your right to get the due tax refund.
Contrary to some other vehicle selling websites, Motorway does not charge you to sell your car online.
It is an entirely free service, giving you the liberty to accept or reject your highest offer. Just give your vehicle details and sit back to get your highest offer.
Motorway is free to car sellers. They get a commission from the dealer when they purchase your car.
