Terms and conditions
These terms explain how AutoExperts vehicle checks, reports, add-ons, promo codes, data guarantee and support work. Please read them before buying a report or using the website.
What you are buying
AutoExperts provides vehicle information reports using data from third-party data providers, public bodies and specialist vehicle data sources. Depending on the product selected, a report may include MOT history, mileage, finance, write-off, stolen, keeper, plate, valuation or service history data.
Reports are for personal buying, selling and vehicle-checking decisions. They are not a mechanical inspection, insurance policy, legal opinion or guarantee that a vehicle is roadworthy.
Data Guarantee
The current guarantee applies only where the report, vehicle, purchase and claim meet the applicable eligibility requirements. It does not cover every possible loss, missing item or data issue.
The guarantee is subject to the provider terms, including Experian's data guarantee terms.
What is not covered
- Any loss outside the guarantee rules or claim period.
- Issues visible on inspection, disclosed by the seller or already known before purchase.
- Mechanical faults, wear and tear, future events, pricing changes or buyer's remorse.
- Reports used for commercial resale, scraping, automated extraction or unauthorised reuse.
Guarantee history
The guarantee available to you depends on the purchase date shown on your order or report.

Service history add-on
Service history availability varies by vehicle and data source. If the service history add-on is selected, we may authorise the service-history amount first and only charge it when usable service records are found.
If no usable service records are found, or the key data needed for the add-on is missing, that add-on amount is not charged or is released back to your payment method.
Refunds and cancellations
Digital reports are usually generated immediately. Once a report has been requested or delivered, it cannot normally be cancelled. If a paid add-on cannot be supplied, we will refund, release or not capture the relevant add-on amount.
If something looks wrong with your report, contact us promptly so we can investigate.
Accuracy and third-party data
We work to present data clearly and quickly, but vehicle data can be delayed, incomplete, incorrectly recorded or unavailable from a provider. You should use the report alongside your own checks, V5C review, seller questions, inspection and test drive.
Your responsibilities
- Enter the correct registration number, email address and payment details.
- Review the report before buying or selling a vehicle.
- Do not copy, scrape, resell or republish report data without permission.
- Keep report links, promo codes and account access secure.
Website availability and liability
We aim to keep the website available and secure, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AutoExperts is not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity or losses caused by misuse of the website or reliance on incomplete third-party data.
Privacy, changes and law
Personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy. We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in force at the time of purchase apply to that purchase. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
